Do we all agree that 2017 feels like a bit of a blur? It went by so fast that it’s hard to believe it is the start of a new year already.
Sometimes it’s difficult not to get overwhelmed by what’s going on in the world with something terrible happening almost every single day… It definitely puts our own struggles and problems into perspective and makes me so grateful for the life we have and the health of our loved ones and ourselves.
I feel so fortunate we got the chance to wander around Europe and the U.S. despite very demanding jobs and (way too) few days off. We traveled to quite some places, starting off in London, Paris, a handful of U.S. states on the Western Coast, then the Cotswolds in the UK, a few days in Luberon in France, as well as Montenegro and Croatia, and finally finishing off the year in NYC and in Belgium for the holidays. We’ve put together a collection of our favorite travel pictures below.
Although I live for traveling, what really warms my heart when I reflect on the past year is all the beautiful (most of them quite simple) moments we got to spend with family and friends. I cherish all the conversations, laughter, meals, debates, hours of board games, walks, etc. I’ve had with old and new friends. All that matters at the end of the day is the amount of love I gave and received.
2017 was a good year for both of us, but I cannot wait to see all the beautiful things that 2018 has to offer. I believe it’s going to be the best one yet with exciting projects and – finally – the end of our long distance relationship. 🙂
From the bottom of our hearts, we both wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year! Keep exploring!
